Causes of Heartburn During Pregnancy

Heartburn during pregnancy is cause by many different factors. Hormonal variation is one of the primary reasons women develop heartburn during pregnancy. The valve can be relaxed by hormones, mainly progesterone. It is the valve which normally prevents stomach acid from backing up into the esophagus. As a result heartburn and irritation can be caused.
Breaking your 3 large meals down into six smaller ones is the simplest way to do this. That way, roughly ever three hours, you will be eating during pregnancy. Hunger pangs will be helped curve this way. Eating a full size meal six times every day will be something you don’t want to do because you will be getting much more than the recommended 300 extra calories every day.
